Meet Jacob!

Meet Jacob!

Instruments played:  Piano, Violin

Favorite band/artist: Jack Johnson, because he has nice calming music that makes you feel like you have a good life in itself.

Favorite song: “The Entertainer”

What Jacob likes most about music lessons is learning how to make his own new songs.  He likes to practice his music at both the beginning and end of the day, and would like to be able to communicate feeling in his music into adulthood, having the ability to change a person’s mood with his own songs.  When asked how music can change the world, Jacob says that “music can inspire people, help people get through their day, and it can let your feelings shine.”… very well spoken! When he is not making music, Jacob enjoys soccer, wrestling, swimming, singing, track and field, parkour, and traveling.

According to his instructor Amber, Jacob demonstrates excitement and enthusiasm in every lesson, and always has great ideas about what songs would be fun to learn. He also loves memorizing all of his his songs. This summer, he composed two beautiful pieces of music and began violin lessons!  His love of music and of learning is apparent every time I see him.

Our oldest son has been learning piano with Music Flow for almost two years. He also just began learning to play guitar! Our youngest son started about 6 months ago. Our instructor is wonderful! He is very patient, kind, and knowledgeable. He follows our children’s lead while at the same time gently steering them in the direction they need to go to learn the skills to play music. The recitals are great events which create a very supportive environment that help motivate the boys to play and practice.  They are well planned and so sweet to watch and experience. We are so grateful for the fantastic instruction and joy of music in our home that Music Flow has brought!
